Glenn Maxwell has won the Melbourne Stars BBL Player of the Season for the third time, whilst Marizanne Kapp has collected the WBBL Player of the Season in her first year with the club.
Glenn Maxwell has taken out his third Melbourne Stars BBL Player of the Season Award, beating home captain Marcus Stoinis and number 1 Draft Pick, Ben Duckett, in a tight finish. Maxwell, who missed the first 2 games of the season due to injury, made an incredible comeback to the team and played some of the most scintillating cricket ever seen in the BBL, leading the Stars to their first finals appearance in 5 years. Amazingly, Maxwell had only polled 3 votes until Game 8 of the competition before exploding with the bat. In the last 3 games of the regular season, Maxwell made 58* (32), 90 (52) and 76* (32) and finished the tournament with an average of 54.16 and a strike rate of 186.78.

Out of the top 30 bowlers in WBBL|10, Kapp was one of only four to have an economy rate of under 6 per over.
