Not sure what to expect at a Melbourne Stars home game? Here you’ll find everything you need to make the most of attending our games at the MCG or CitiPower Centre.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Melbourne Stars aim to be the most inclusive and accessible team in the Big Bash League. We welcome fans of all backgrounds to our games to see some of the biggest names and best cricketers in the world.
Whether you’re a cricket tragic or have never attended a game before, there is plenty on offer at a Melbourne Stars home game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and CitiPower Centre (WBBL).
With all the action on-field including big wickets, huge sixes and spectacular catches, there is plenty to get excited about outside of the game too, including entertainment and activities like live music, giveaways, face painting, the Super Stars Playground in Yarra Park and much more.
GETTING TO THE GAME
To make the most of your experience at a Melbourne Stars game, we’d recommend arriving an hour before the match begins to enjoy the fan zones, collect some freebies, take in some live music and soak up the atmosphere.
MCG
There are plenty of ways to get to the MCG:
- Train: Jolimont Station (Hurstbridge and Mernda lines) and Richmond Station (Lilydale/Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Frankston, Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne or Sandringham lines) are close to the MCG, while you can also take a 20-minute walk from Flinders Street Station.
- Tram: Route 75 (City – Vermont South), Route 45/48 (Docklands/City – North Balwyn) and Route 70 (Docklands/City – Surrey Hills) all stop near the ‘G.
- Bus: Route 246 (Elsternwick – Clifton Hill) stops along Punt Road, which is a short walk from the ground.
- Drive: Parking is usually available for $10 by EFTPOS at Yarra Park. Note that parking may reach capacity prior to match start. Alternative parking includes the MOPT and Wilson Parking locations nearby.
- Taxi: Stars fans and members receive an exclusive discount on game day thanks to our partner, 13cabs. Sign up to receive our communications here.
CitiPower Centre (Junction Oval)
If you’re making the trip to the CitiPower Centre in St Kilda for a WBBL game:
- Drive: This is not recommended. Very limited on-street parking will be available around the Fitzroy Street / Lakeside Drive / Albert Park Precinct. Please adhere to street signs for parking costs.
- Tram: Routes 16 and 96 provide the shortest walk to the CitiPower Centre, while Routes 3, 5, 64 and 67 all stop at St Kilda Junction (Stop #30).
- Train: Windsor Station (Sandringham line) is the nearest station, with a 15-20 minute walk to the CitiPower Centre via Peel Street.
ENTERTAINMENT, GIVEAWAYS & FAN ZONE
Whether it’s live music from up-and-coming Aussie musicians, loved mascots Starman and Starlet, the fan zone in Yarra Park and more, the Melbourne Stars provide plenty of entertainment off the pitch for fans of all ages.
The Stars fan zone between Gates 2 and 3 of Yarra Park includes a range of fun activities like the Stars Truck, colouring station, the Super Stars playground with inflatables and cricket skill activities, face painting and more.
We also have a variety of giveaways for fans at each game, with some made from 100% recycled materials as part of our commitment to Team Green sustainability.
Inside, you can expect fireworks, pyrotechnics, LED lighting, live music and a range of interactive elements while watching the game.
TICKETS, MEMBERSHIPS & MERCHANDISE
All tickets to the MCG are delivered digitally via Ticketek, which can be pre-purchased online or at the gate on match night. You can pre-purchase your tickets via Ticketek here.

Melbourne Stars merchandise is available at the CitiPower Centre for all WBBL games and is also open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. Official Stars Merchandise will also be available at a variety of outlets at the MCG.
ACCESSIBILITY
For those with disability passes, parking is available in Yarra Park. Visit the MCG website for full details for each game.
The MCG and CitiPower Centre have dedicated wheelchair friendly spaces and Multi-faith Prayer Rooms throughout the stands, while our MC announcements are accompanied by an AUSLAN interpreter.
We also partner with The Inclusion Project at select games, who help us deliver a Sensory Room for families who need a quiet space to enjoy games.
SAFETY
The MCG and CitiPower Centre are secure venues, with a robust conditions of entry policy and plenty of security measures.

THE GAME
T20 matches run for approximately three hours (at most). Of course, this can vary depending on the length of the second innings run chase, wet weather and other factors.
