Squad of 14 announced for Melbourne Invitational T10

The Melbourne Stars Academy have named a squad of 14 players for the upcoming T10 Melbourne Invitational to be held in Melbourne next week.

7 players who were part of the Stars BBL|14 squad will take part in the tournament, comprising 8 games over 10 days, all of which will be held at the CitiPower Centre in Melbourne.

The tournament will see the Stars Academy play the Melbourne Renegades Academy, Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes and will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports in Australia and Dream 11 in India.

T20 High Performance Manager Clint McKay will coach the side and said the tournament provided another opportunity for the next generation of talent to gain valuable experience.

There’s nothing like the pressure of being out in the middle and this opportunity will be so beneficial for those who are on the edge of gaining a Big Bash contract.

“It serves as part of our T20 High Performance program which is expanding this year within Victorian cricket and I look forward to seeing what some of the youngsters can produce over the next 10 days.”
