The Melbourne Stars secured their first win of BBL|14 with a five-wicket win over the Brisbane Heat with 11 balls remaining.
First win in the books for BBL|14
It was a night to remember for the Stars, breaking an eight-match losing streak and featured another outrageous Glenn Maxwell catch.
After a shaky start to the run chase Melbourne was 3-14 in the fourth over however Marcus Stoinis and Dan Lawrence steadied the ship with a match-winning partnership of 132 runs.
Stoinis was awarded Player of the Match for his 62 off 48. Lawrence, in his first match this season coming in as replacement player for the injured Tom Curran, hit the winning runs and ended the innings not out on 64 off 38.
Yet again Maxwell showed off his athleticism in the field leaping over the boundary to catch the ball, throwing it back into the field of play and stepping back inside the rope to complete the catch.

The Stars fast bowling cartel helped to put on early pressure with Joel Paris, Mark Steketee and Peter Siddle all taking wickets within the first eight overs to have the Heat 4-39. Usama Mir also picked up a wicket while Glenn Maxwell ended the evening with four catches as the Heat posted a total of 7/149.
The Stars now return to Melbourne for Saturday's blockbuster MCG Derby against the Renegades.
