The Melbourne Stars took the game until the last over but suffered a narrow loss to the Sydney Thunder at Drummoyne Oval.

After being sent in to bat and posting a total of 108 the Stars, the pressure was on to bowl well and take some early wickets.
Marizanne Kapp did so, giving the Stars some spark taking 3-20 to remove the Thunder's opening three batters.
Kim Garth, Sophie Day and Maisy Gibson also picked up wickets which kept Melbourne in the game. The Thunder needed 8 runs off the final over and were able to score the winning runs with two balls to spare.
The Stars will now head to Brisbane for a clash with the Heat on Friday night before returning home for their final game of the season on Sunday against the Strikers.
