The Melbourne Stars fell 15 runs short to the Melbourne Renegades in the Derby at the CitiPower Centre.
Derby doesn't go Stars way
Marizanne Kapp and Deepti Sharma hit multiple boundaries in the middle order, however it wasn’t enough to increase the Stars’ run rate.
Kapp also impressed with the ball taking 2-22 including the wicket of Renegades opener and captain Hayley Matthews. Annabel Sutherland picked up two wickets across her four overs.
Maisy Gibson took her first wicket as a Star, with Yatsika Bhatia doing the glovework to take the catch.

It was a battle between bat and ball with the Renegades posting 6-146.
The Stars lost an early wicket in Ines McKeon before Meg Lanning and Yastika Bhatia both made 22 runs.
All eyes now turn to next week’s clash on Friday night for another Derby, as the Stars host the Renegades at the MCG on Friday night.
