Stars fall short to Sixers

In an 18-over game shortened due to rain delays, the Melbourne Stars were unable to hold off the Sydney Sixers, with the visitors prevailing by six runs (DLS Method).

Shining bright for the Stars was skipper Annabel Sutherland hitting 42 runs from 36 balls off the back of a fast start by opening pair Yastika Bhatia and Ines McKeon.

The ever-reliable Kim Garth took the sole wicket for the Stars, finishing with figures of 1-8 from her two overs.

The Stars will look to bounce back tomorrow at CitiPower Centre from 3:00PM, taking on arch-rivals Melbourne Renegades in what shapes as a pivotal game for both sides with the WBBL|10 finals race wide open.
