Stars Abroad: T20 Spring Challenge semis

The Stars have warmed up nicely for the WBBL, making the semifinals of the Spring Challenge, whilst there were some familiar faces in white this weekend.

The Stars won 3 of their 4 games before the semifinal was washed out in Sydney

Maisy Gibson, Sophie Day and Tess Flintoff all impressed with the ball, whilst Rhys McKenna was promoted and showed some of her powerful hitting as an opener.

Meg Lanning made 92* against the Sixers, sending a reminder to Australian cricket that she is still a force to be reckoned with.

Spinners Sasha Moloney and Hasrat Gill also showed their worth with the ball and Sophie Reid was solid at 3 in the batting order.

Glenn Maxwell made his return to red ball cricket, whilst Campbell Kellaway made a half-century against a strong NSW bowling attack at the MCG. Elsewhere in the Sheffield Shield, Beau Webster is facing off against Stars teammates Brody Couch and Hilton Cartwright as Western Australia and Tasmania go to battle at the WACA.

Despite Marizanne Kapp's strong T20 World Cup, South Africa were defeated by New Zealand in the final by 32 runs.
