Moloney returns, Gibson makes the move

Tasmanian duo Sasha Moloney and Maisy Gibson have signed for WBBL|10.

It will be Moloney’s 3rd season with the Stars having made the move to Victoria this year, whilst Gibson arrives after five seasons with the Hurricanes.

“I’m rapt to be back and I’m also looking forward to Maisy coming across and hopefully she can help us push towards finals in WBBL|10,” said Moloney.

“She adds a lot of experience having played for a number of years and I think she can have an immediate impact.”

Gibson, a right arm leg spinner has taken 70 wickets in 76 WBBL games with career best figures of 4/24 last year against the Renegades.

“To get the chance to play at the MCG this summer is going to be an amazing experience in such a big year for the league, this being the tenth edition,” said Gibson.

“Hopefully I can build a great partnership with Sophie and Sasha and we can all offer something different with the ball.”

“To have three domestic spin options within the squad is ideal coming into WBBL|10,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.

“Maisy has been consistent performer for a long time now after overcoming her battles with injury, whilst Sasha has been a wonderful member of the team, immediately adding her leadership and guidance to the squad as well as her outstanding bowling and fielding.”
