Keeper locked in for WBBL|10

Wicketkeeper Sophie Reid has signed a two-year deal with the Melbourne Stars.

The 26-year-old has impressed with the bat and the gloves at both WBBL and State level after receiving her first full Victorian contract two seasons ago.

Reid has played 22 matches for the Stars and became the Stars first choice keeper halfway through WBBL|10.

“It’s great to put pen to paper with the Stars for another 2 years,” said Reid.

“We’ve assembled a great squad and we’ve got our sights firmly set on making the finals in what is a historic season for the WBBL.”

“We have been really impressed with Sophie’s development over the last two years and her form for Victoria in the back end of last summer was particularly strong, winning a number of player-of-the-match awards,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.

“She is a valued member of the team and we look forward to seeing what she can produce in WBBL|10.”
