Blockbuster fixture set, Stars to launch BBL|14
The first home match of the season will take place at the MCG on 18th December as the reigning champions, the Brisbane Heat travel to Melbourne.
The Stars international pre-signing Tom Curran will face his former team the Sydney Sixers in the traditional Boxing Day night clash as part of three games on the road.
The Stars will host a match in Canberra for the first time whilst the MCG is unavailable then travel to Brisbane for a huge New Year’s Day clash, before the Stars return home for a Saturday night derby at the MCG against the Renegades.
The team will remain in Melbourne for the rest of the tournament, with a return Derby at Marvel Stadium and games against the Sixers and the Hurricanes at the MCG.
“This is such an exciting fixture for our members and fans with blockbusters at the MCG and on the road,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.
“We’re looking forward to opening the season before welcoming our members and fans to the MCG for the first time in BBL|14 on 18th December.
“Last year we saw fans flock back to the Big Bash and last time we had a Saturday Night derby at the MCG we had over 54,000 fans at the MCG and we hope to eclipse that this year.”
